March 5–9 is California Food Waste Prevention Week
March is "National Nutrition Month," and this year’s theme is “Go Further With Food.” Since no food is truly nutritious unless it is eaten, a number of California state agencies are partnering with the Public Health Alliance of Southern California to launch the first Food Waste Prevention Week, March 5–9.
Schools can help reduce food waste through nutrition education, which addresses appropriate food portion sizes; how to read food labels; how to plan, prepare and shop for food; and much more.
