Evaluation Results: Eat Move Win Engages Students to Change for the Better
Eat Move Win
The results are in! After a formative evaluation of Eat Move Win in 14 California schools, the program was most effective at improving high school students’ nutrition attitudes and confidence in making better food choices. 

Student changes after completing the lessons included:
  • Improved knowledge of nutrition concepts
  • Reduced soft drink and cookie intake
  • Increased milk and whole-grain pasta intake
These results were shared at a peer-reviewed poster session at the Society of Behavioral Medicine Conference. Read the full evaluation results and view the poster on our website.

Student All-Stars Inspire Healthy Change in Their Communities
2017 Student Health All-Stars
Imagine having your own cooking show in sixth grade or improving food access in a food desert in 12th grade. That's exactly what 2017 Student Health All-Stars Ramses Ruiz from Sacramento and Maelin Aquino from Rancho Cucamonga have accomplished in their communities. 

As schools increasingly become the nexus of health in the community, we are inspired by these two young California students who are contributing to nutrition education, food literacy and food access efforts among their peers. Learn more here.

International Interest in Local School Wellness Policies

Thank you to all who joined the Local School Wellness Policy Collaborative (LSWP) preconference session hosted by the California Department of Education's Nutrition Services Division at the Ninth Biennial Childhood Obesity Conference in San Diego.

Session attendees hailed from across California and all the way from Romania! Dairy Council of CA and partners presented skill-building activities to update LSWP priorities, goals and action plans to meet the final rule requirements.
